Homes You Can Walk to Texas Tech From
Skip the game-day traffic and parking. These Lubbock vacation homes put you steps from Texas Tech for football Saturdays, graduation and campus visits.
If you've ever sat in game-day traffic, paid a crazy amount for parking near Galaxy Stadium, and then still walked forever to get to your seats, this one's for you.
Here's the thing about Lubbock: everything is "close," until you're trying to get to campus with 60,000 of your closest friends. That's why we've spent the last ten years putting homes right where y'all actually want to be. Steps from Texas Tech, in neighborhoods like Tech Terrace and the historic Buddy Holly area, plus South Overton and nearby, so walking, driving, grabbing an Uber or hopping on a Lyft scooter is easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Whether you're here for a football Saturday, a graduation, move-in weekend, or just visiting your Red Raider, here are our favorite homes near campus.
For the whole crew
Entire Sawyer (6 bedrooms, sleeps 12). Two homes on one lot, steps from Texas Tech. Book both and keep the whole family together without anybody stuck on an air mattress. The two homes share a big yard with 2 grills, and it's one of the only homes in Lubbock with a sprinkler system and soft, green grass. Honestly? It's one of my favorite places to hang out.
Sawyer Main House (4 bedrooms, sleeps 8). A modern house steps from campus, with pecan trees in the yard and room to spread out after the game.
The Chicago (3 bedrooms, sleeps 8). A game room house within walking distance of TTU. Perfect for the friend group that wants a pregame spot and a place to crash.
Overton Manor (4 bedrooms, sleeps 8). Walk to TTU, with a king bed so the grown-ups sleep well too, and a garage for safe parking on game days. It's SO close to the Tech area, it's a dream.
For families and small groups
The Peggy Sue (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6). Lubbock's first full-home Airbnb, and once the most wish-listed Airbnb in Lubbock. Guests tell us it's "walkable to campus" and "perfect for a bbq." I've walked from here to the stadium myself. It took us about 20 minutes, and it was soooo nice not to be stuck in traffic. Wear comfy shoes, or grab a quick Uber.
Rustic Raider (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6). Steps from Texas Tech, with room for the whole family to tailgate and hang out. It was designed by a local designer we love soooo much, our guests love this space, and there's a garage too.
Tranquil Terrace (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4). A relaxing retreat you can walk to TTU from. Calm after a loud Saturday. And y'all, this one is JAW DROPPING. It's one of my favorite homes in Lubbock: so calm, so cozy, and such a vibe.
The BuddyHOLLYWOOD (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4). A condo you can walk to Tech from, in the heart of the historic Buddy Holly neighborhood.
For two
Historic Firehouse (1 bedroom, sleeps 2). A real converted firehouse with a garage door that opens to the patio, a Ms. Pac-Man arcade, and a 3-minute drive to the stadium. You can walk to campus, and it's pet-friendly too.
Cricket (1 bedroom, sleeps 2, plus a kids loft). A charming suite within walking distance of TTU. It sits right behind The Peggy Sue on a shared lot, so book both if you're traveling with family.
June (studio, sleeps 2). A renovated studio in Tech Terrace, one of Lubbock's favorite neighborhoods to walk around.
